Family Cooking Class: Buca di Bacco, Positano
We love cooking classes. So when booking our holiday in Positano, I found the amazing Buca di Bacco. We have taken classes the last few years each April when we are in Italy. Last year we had an amazing tour and cooking class in Venice with Isabella. The year before we stayed at Al Gelso Bianco in Tuscany and had a few cooking classes (and wine tastings) that were fantastic right at our agritourismo.
The cooking class at Buca di Bacco was absolutely amazing. We had the pastry kitchen of the restaurant all to ourselves. We had 3 very child friendly instructors. Our girls loved every minute of the 3 hour class. After the class we went to the restaurant to eat all the food we had made, beautifully plated and with their local house wine from the Amalfi coast. Once the girls had eaten, they ran out to the gorgeous Positano beach where we could easily watch them play as the sun set while we finished our meal, wine, and cappuccino. We left the class with a bag filled with our apron, chef hat, cookbook, certificate of competing the course, and two tools to make gnocchi. We brought home so much food that we had leftovers for days. Come hungry, eat, drink, and be merry.
If you are visiting Positano, I would highly recommend this family friendly cooking class. The instructors were very child friendly and we were all learning and smiling the entire time. The chef even showed us pictures of his gorgeous daughters while we were eating. He has girls the same age as ours. Email cooking@bucadibacco.it for reservations.Heike and the chef had a very good working rapport.
