Chocolate Class at Lindt & Sprungli
For Valentine’s Day my husband and I took a chocolate class at Lindt & Sprungli. We walked in, signed in and sampled a few chocolates before being ushered into a large changing room. In the changing room we were given white jackets and hats. Then instructed to wash our hands. The changing room was full of pictures of the history of Lindt & Sprungli. We all took selfies of each other looking so cute in our little white outfits.
The class was two hours long where we made champagne truffles and pralines. We each had a prep table with large vats of melted chocolate on top. White, Dark and Milk Chocolate. I wanted to dunk my face into it! For the champagne truffles, we made the chocolate balls, then filled them with the Veuve Clicquot champagne and chocolate liquid inside. Next we rolled them in the powdered sugar and stored them in the refrigerator to set. Then we got artistic and made pralines, dipping them in all three kinds of melted chocolate, adding decorations of gold flakes, almonds and chocolate designs with tiny piping bags. During our intermission we sampled chocolates at the large kitchen in the front of the room. There was also a nice presentation on the history of chocolate and Lindt & Sprungli.
Lindt & Sprungli has holiday courses throughout the year including Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, and Mother’s Day. See a full list of classes here. Book the truffle and praline class here. Classes are taught in German or English. There are also classes for children, which is what I’m going to sign my girls up for next. When in Switzerland, right?
