Our Austrian Kinderhotel holiday
We are planning our February holiday 2016 and I find myself looking back through our pictures from last February when we stayed at the Kinderhotel Buchau in Austria. This was our first time trying an all inclusive holiday. With a Kid’s Club. Never thought I would say that.
This was a wonderful holiday. We didn’t get in a car, wait in line, find a place to eat, fight crowds, buy tickets, get lost, or any of the usual things that happen on vacations. We had all inclusive food, wine, espresso machines, ski lessons, spa, pool, jacuzzi, slide, gym, kid’s club, pony rides, horse drawn carriage ride around the beautiful lake, playgrounds (indoor and outdoor), nightly activities, etc. This is a land cruise. This is a one stop shop for your entire family. There is no planning necessary. They have done all the work for you.
Our days started with breakfast, then two hour ski lessons for the kids, next drop them off with the Kid’s Club at 12:00 for lunch and afternoon activities such as a bouncy castle, soft play, arts and crafts, playground, cooking class, horse riding, etc. The kids had a great time while I went to the gym, walked around the beautiful Lake Achensee, or read at the bar, the open bar. Around 3pm we would pick them up to go swimming. There is an indoor/outdoor pool, large jacuzzi, and a children’s wading area that is enclosed in glass. Then we would head to dinner. The food was really top notch. The children can run off to the nearest indoor playground with their friends and we enjoy the rest of our leisurely dinner. I find this amazing.
At night, our hotel room phone doubled as a baby monitor. If the computer detected noise, our mobile phone rang and off we went to check on our girls. This is a wonderful part of this experience. We usually travel with our children at all times, and we love it. We do everything together and at nightime we just snuggle in bed and read while the kids sleep.
What has been your favorite holiday with your children? Have you tried a Kinderhotel?
