My Pregnancy Week 33
In my pregnancy week 33, we just have 7 weeks left until we meet this baby. The girls and I are nesting (who knew that kids nest as well as the mom?). Also, we celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary!
We Are Nesting
With 7 weeks until our new baby joins us, we have been busy getting organized. The girls are getting the guest room all ready for the baby. We have washed the clothes our friends have given us so far. Upon a friend’s advice, I put Hadley in charge of decorating the baby’s room. She has been thoroughly reading the new Ikea catalogue and tagging every page with her grand baby decorating ideas. Heike is helping me fold and put away the baby clothes.
Modern Map Art sent us this map of Zürich and Hadley thought it would look perfect in the baby’s room.
Our 12th Wedding Anniversary
We celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary with Sunday brunch at The Dolder Grand. It’s a beautiful hotel and the brunch was amazing. My husband loved the ribs and veggies from the outdoor grill and my girls loved all the tables of tiny desserts. The girls also got a cute coloring and activity book to keep them busy. They didn’t get very far on it as they were too busy eating. I loved the view over the golf course and over the Alps in the distance.
Call The Midwife
I called our insurance this week and asked for a list of midwives. I also emailed our hospital where we plan to have our baby and looked through their midwife list. I have contacted a midwife and am hoping for the best. I’ve never had a midwife and I’m super excited to have someone come to our house and check on the baby and myself and to make sure everything is going smoothly or check for problems. I was very happy that the insurance, hospital, and my friend’s recommended midwife was on the list. Now I’m just waiting to her back from her.
Next On My List
Still on my to-do list is packing a hospital bag. I would love to find some pajamas, a robe, and slippers for the hospital and after when we bring the baby home. I’m still not sure what to buy. I want it to be really comfortable for the hospital and it needs to be easy to breastfeed and easy for those first few days after the delivery.
The girls and I are going on a little weekend getaway in a few days and I’m very excited to treat ourselves before the baby comes.
