Easter Brunch at Jucker Farm Bächlihof
Brunch At Jucker Farm
The Easter weekend brunch at Bächlihof (Jucker Farm in Jona) is absolutely fantastic. We went with another family with the same age girls as ours last Good Friday. We arrived at 9am to find our reserved table in the sweet wooden restaurant waiting for us, decorated with Easter eggs. I like that it’s a small room with big family tables. I went inside the cafeteria and checked in and was shown how the brunch works and we were given our stickers. The stickers show that we can eat anything from 9am until 1pm including coffee and the fresh apple juices just paying one fixed price. This cafeteria is where all the food is. The other room is where we eat. A bit confusing your first time, but I love it as it’s nice and quiet in our eating room.
The food is fantastic and they have everything from eggs, bacon, hash browns, and pancakes, meat, fish, cheese, and vegetable platters. There is always an abundance of desserts right when you walk in along with a large vat of hot custard. For lunch we usually order their fresh pizzas or flammkuchen, but there was white asparagus, white asparagus soup, pastas, and many other choices. There is something for everyone and I highly recommend this for a wonderful family outing near Zürich.
What Made The Easter Brunch Special?
Easter Brunch at Jucker Farm includes breakfast and brunch from 9am-1pm, an Easter Egg Hunt, and a Coloring Contest. There are so many other activities going on during the long weekend including roasting your own snake bread and sausages on an open fire. They also have an asparagus kiosk selling more things made of asparagus than you ever thought possible. A grill with sausages is also available. Our children played outside together for hours. There is a covered hay loft to play in, playground, and animals to see and pet. Our table was reserved the whole time, so we didn’t have to worry about leaving and coming back, which is wonderful.

Getting There
Jucker Farm Seegräben is located a 45 minute train or a 26 minute drive from Zürich HB. I drove this morning and parked 400 meters from the farm at a parking lot on the left. It is well marked as a parking lot and takes less than 5 minutes to walk to the farm from that lot. I paid $8 for a 4 hour parking slot. This was our first time here and it was quite easy to get there, park, and find the farm.
We usually go to Jucker Farm Bächlihof which is located 35 minutes by car or 45 minutes by train from Zürich HB. It’s quite similar to Jucker Farm Seegraben, minus the lake. So I would say you’re not missing anything if you go to one and not the other.
Beyond Jucker Farm
Lake Swimming (Badi)
Bachlihof is a wonderful day out for the whole family. But there is even more fun to be had by taking a walk behind the apple trees to the badi on Lake Zürich. We will definitely be back to Bachlihof this summer to spend a day on the farm and then the afternoon at the badi. It’s a huge grassy open space with a slide into the water.
Knies Kinderzoo
The Knies Kinderzoo is a fun day out for the whole family. We went over this spring break holiday with some other families and had the best time. Our kids loved the sea lion show, the playgrounds, and the baby giraffe and elephant.
Rapperswil
We love to take the steam boat to Rapperswil. It is the most gorgeous way to arrive in Rapperswil. The castle is obvious right away and it is absolutely gorgeous to see. The Rapperswil promonade is gorgeous to walk along with its beautiful tree-lined path along Lake Zürich where the steam boat departs and arrives. We usually walk up to the castle, then find lunch down along the main street. Some of our favorites are Cafe Good and Dieci al Lago.
